Regional Surveys

As of January 2016, Xtra Insights is the official provider of regional radio surveys.

Radio networks within a licenced area (RA1) can commission one survey per calendar year, and depending on the sample size used, can gain audience figures for a range of demographic groups.

These surveys differ from those released in metropolitan and major regional markets. While GfK surveys report on share and time spent listening (TSL) on account of the diarised method of collecting data, the regional survey is based on stations most listened to rather than share.
